Curriculum Alignment Disposition — 2026-09-09
Project operations source: Curriculum Alignment Disposition — 2026-09-09.
This record closes the mechanical source portion of the approved Learning Lab hardening pass. It compares the twelve historical Track audits with the current Track Map, Track Guides, module sources, and canonical Lab Activities. Historical audits remain unchanged; their snapshots describe the earlier composition passes, not current readiness.
The pass preserves every module’s primary Track, dependencies, lifecycle, learner availability, owner, and review status; every Lab’s primary module, related Tracks, release mode, owner, and review status; and every Track’s lifecycle, availability, and owner. Related module Tracks change only for four already-approved signature assignments. Candidate support and developing-route links do not become membership through this pass.
Mechanical repairs applied
| Recorded issue | Disposition and canonical evidence |
|---|---|
| Study Time’s signature module lacked its reciprocal Track relationship. | Added study-time to AI for Learning related_tracks. Creative AI Makerspace remains primary and AI Literacy remains related; Seed / Planned and Unassigned remain unchanged. Its app Lab’s Track metadata is unchanged. |
| Family’s signature module lacked its reciprocal Track relationship. | Added fun-for-the-family to Family Learning Lab related_tracks. Makerspace remains primary; Seed / Planned and Unassigned remain unchanged. This is still a module seed with no signature Lab package. |
| Knowledge Bases’ signature module lacked its reciprocal Track relationship. | Added building-knowledge-bases-second-brains to Context Engineering related_tracks. AI Literacy remains primary; Sketch / Planned and Renaissance Solutions remain unchanged. Its four featured Labs retain their existing Track metadata. |
| Systems’ signature module lacked its reciprocal Track relationship. | Added systems-thinking-and-ai-engineering to How Technology Changes the Ecology of Communication related_tracks. AI Literacy remains primary and AI Readiness remains related; Sketch / Planned and Unassigned remain unchanged. |
| Conversational Privacy omitted its existing primary Lab from Practice. | Added a direct What Does the Tool Need? Activity and Notebook route in Conversational Privacy. The Lab’s primary_module: conversational-privacy and Beta release establish the existing relationship. Other practice links remain. |
| Preparation copy omitted named dependencies or said none. | Conversational Privacy, Conversation Engineering, Context Engineering, and Relationships with Conversational AI now name their existing dependencies under Recommended preparation. The dependency arrays are unchanged. This makes preparation visible without imposing a new compulsory Track sequence or settling readiness for independent delivery. |
| Context Engineering’s practice estimates disagreed with its Labs. | The module now uses Context Cleanup’s 15–20 minutes and Build the Brief Before the Work’s 30–40 minutes. Its full-module estimate remains 60–75 minutes. All are planning estimates, not pilot measurements. |
| Creative Latitude described its primary Lab as Draft. | Creative Latitude now identifies From Inspiration to Invention as Beta, matching its canonical Lab. The module remains Draft / Drafting, and learning-design, accessibility, image-rights, and counsel/legal review remain open. |
| The app Lab’s Activity/Notebook demanded builder records while its learner/facilitator guides accepted the supplied prototype. | Module to Interactive Single-Page Application and its existing Notebook now carry the complete non-coding route: use the four supplied interaction types, explain context distinctions, and critique feedback. New prototypes and design records belong to optional extensions. Notebook prompts and completion checks match the Activity; its primary module and Beta release are unchanged. |
| Current Guides and Track Map repeated the now-repaired gaps. | Updated the affected current pages to describe these repairs. The historical snapshots and their source checkpoint references remain intact. |
Relationship disposition by recorded audit
The table accounts for the relationship questions in every recorded Track audit. Editorial means the current source does not establish the proposed membership or reparenting, so the hardening pass leaves that choice open. It does not mean the link or Track role is removed.
| Audit evidence | Relationship disposition |
|---|---|
| AI Literacy | Historical “listed,” “Multiple,” missing-status, and Draft/Idea inventory labels are superseded by the current Guide and canonical metadata; do not rewrite the snapshot. Editorial: Brain Dump to Memo remains primary to When the Bot Sounds Right but Is Not. Its applied-writing fit and the unbuilt Sounds Right—Check It verification practice need a content decision. Becoming an Informed Technology Consumer remains primary to AI Readiness, with no AI Literacy membership added. Orientation/foundations, prompting/conversation/context handoffs, and the two verification concepts keep their current separation; the historical candidate comparison is not an instruction to merge or add modules. |
| Creative AI Makerspace | Signature parentage already matches. From Inspiration to Invention remains primary to Creative Latitude and related to Make Something Weird; Build a Tiny Virtual Museum remains primary to Make Something Weird; the app Lab remains primary to AI for Learning. Editorial: Prompting, Before You Paste, Reality Check, and Relationships with Conversational AI support memberships remain candidates. Existing consumer/privacy relationships are preserved. Creative Latitude’s stale Lab label is repaired above. |
| Agentic Coding | Signature module/Lab parentage already matches. Editorial: Prompting, Context Engineering, and Safety retain existing primary/related Tracks; a dependency or support selection alone does not add Agentic Coding membership. The TTS Lab’s existing Agentic Coding, Podcaster, and Local Hosting relationships are preserved. |
| AI Readiness | Friction Mapping’s signature placement and AI Is a Tool dependency already match. Editorial: What Does the Tool Need?’s additional AI Readiness membership and Safety/Reality Check support memberships remain candidates. The privacy and relationships modules already name AI Readiness. Consumer and image-modification Labs keep their own primary modules. Identifying the Squeaky Wheel remains an internal module concept, not a canonical shared Lab. |
| Study Time | Signature reciprocity repaired. Editorial: the app Lab’s Study Time membership and other support handoffs remain candidates; neither its optional role nor module ownership automatically changes Lab metadata. Conversational Privacy and the deferred Current Events/History modules already name Study Time. Adult Relationships with Conversational AI is not repurposed as a youth lesson. |
| Fun for the Family | Signature reciprocity repaired. Existing Creative Latitude, From Inspiration to Invention, and Conversational Privacy relationships remain. Editorial: museum, orientation/prompting/safety/privacy support selections without existing Family metadata, adult relationship reference, and scam-awareness handoff remain candidates. A family format mention does not establish child suitability. |
| Knowledge Bases | Signature reciprocity repaired. Editorial: the four context Labs’ additional Knowledge Bases memberships and selected support-module memberships remain candidates. All Lab primary modules remain Context Engineering. Context Engineering Basics is represented by the existing module; no duplicate is created. |
| Systems Thinking | Signature reciprocity repaired. Editorial: Conversation/Context Engineering and their shared Labs remain support candidates for additional Systems membership. The decision-ownership and recoverable-systems sources retain AI Readiness parentage; Simpson’s Paradox retains Systems parentage. No new Prompt Engineering, governance, or human-in-the-loop module is inferred from the old outline. |
| Contributor and Mentor Development | All four existing modules already have this primary Track. No Lab parentage is invented for their activity concepts. Templates, contribution policy, and workflow remain supporting references. Mentor/reviewer authority and consultant readiness are editorial decisions, not metadata normalization. |
| Podcaster / Influencer | The proposed signature has no source to relink. Editorial: additional support memberships for Customer Communication, Ecology, Safety, Reality Check, Public Speaking, and the TTS module remain candidates. Their primary homes are unchanged. The TTS Lab already names Podcaster and remains Alpha; the Track does not require a Beta promotion. |
| Agentic Literacy | The proposed signature has no source to relink. Editorial: additional memberships for the four shared module/Lab pairs and the decision-ownership branch remain candidates. Decision Ownership exists despite the historical unlinked name and stays primary to AI Readiness. Conversation/Context preparation copy is aligned above, with dependency metadata retained. |
| Local Hosting | The proposed signature has no source to relink. Editorial: consumer/privacy support and organizational-resilience memberships remain candidates. The TTS Lab already names Local Hosting; it remains a hosted-provider example, not a self-hosting curriculum. Conversational Privacy navigation/preparation gaps are repaired above. |
The current Curiosity Guide is also checked as a current reference: Becoming Curious Again and its Beta It Starts With a Question package exist. Older notes about a missing Curiosity signature are superseded. Its current live-generative-AI encounter and learner/partner/facilitator participation rules remain unchanged. Developing creative and simulation links do not become new reciprocal memberships.
Alignment decisions still requiring editorial or package work
| Recorded issue family | Current disposition |
|---|---|
| TTS completion and timing: Agentic Coding, Podcaster, Local Hosting | Editorial, unresolved. The Activity’s full Done contract requires a live MP3 from the learner’s account; facilitator evidence also permits a documented mock result, and account-free planning/testing/review is explicit. The 45–60-minute dry-run portion, 90–120-minute general estimate, 105-minute facilitator session, and 2–3-hour extended route do not settle equivalent full completion. The safe repository setup and referenced Voice Auditions inputs remain core gaps recorded in the Lab README. Preserve credentials, spend controls, human listening, and Alpha status; do not manufacture equivalence or authorize synthesis. |
| Friction Mapping versus Identifying the Squeaky Wheel | Editorial, unresolved. The module’s low-risk paper/whiteboard/discussion practice and no-formal-record route differ from the internal concept’s Mermaid maps, eight retained outputs, and toolkit-oriented artifacts. The canonical Lab/Notebook do not exist. Scope and completion must be selected before building that package; no concept is promoted to shared Lab membership. |
| Conversation/context no-tool completion: Knowledge Bases, Systems, Agentic Literacy | Package review remains open. Context Cleanup supplies a paper-first route. Build the Brief Before the Work and the optional context experiments require actual output comparisons, despite optional-tool participation language. Supplied-example participation is allowed by the module, but a facilitator must prepare the appropriate comparison outputs; a fictional task or sorted brief alone is not the full comparison. Required-document collections for the two optional experiments remain Coming Soon. No new packet or fictional execution evidence is created. |
| Broad or unresolved prerequisites | Editorial, unresolved. How to Turn a Lesson Into a Lab’s “Completion of several beginner modules,” Consultant Readiness’s “AI Readiness module sequence,” Resilience and Outage Planning’s “Safe AI Use for Small Business or equivalent,” and What Happens After Intake’s “Several AI Readiness modules” do not identify a settled required sequence. Preserve the source strings; selecting exact modules or an equivalence standard needs learning-design judgment. Existing explicit “or equivalent” dependencies elsewhere are also preserved. |
| Missing signature packages and proposed modules/Labs | Outside mechanical hardening. Makerspace’s introductory creative-play package; Study Time’s guided study practice; Family’s shared play; Systems’ Communication Ecology Map; Contributor’s lesson-to-Lab package; and the proposed Podcaster, Local Hosting, and Agentic Literacy signatures still need the complete Activities, reviewed examples, standalone Notebooks, and facilitator guidance named in their current Guides. The Knowledge Bases bridge to a maintained collection remains unbuilt. Existing templates, prototypes, and adjacent Labs do not close those gaps. Original named module/Lab ideas stay proposals until selected; no new titles, source pages, or curricula are created. |
| Existing partial packages and missing materials | Open as recorded. Consumer Reports and Generative Image Modification remain Alpha with missing Notebooks and learner materials; their metadata remains explicit. The deferred Current Events and History Alpha packages still need examples, protocols, and learner/facilitator materials. Family-use privacy scenarios, memory/consent practice, decision-ownership maps, comparison packets, and demonstrations remain gaps. Materials marked Coming Soon are not relabeled ready. |
| AI Literacy historical inventory and overlap questions | Historical labels superseded; editorial depth still open. Current Guide roles supersede the old candidate-core table and wrong availability labels. Unbuilt Chatbot Roles and Modes, media, verification, and other directions are not silently created. Existing orientation, safety, verification, conversation/context, consumer, public-speaking, and deferred sources retain their roles and primary parentage. Required factuality, privacy, learning-design, and pilot review remain open. |
| Audience, evidence, and authority boundaries across audits | Preserved, not resolved by hardening. Family/youth safeguarding, adult-only relationship material, accessibility and nonvisual routes, rights/counsel review, source quality and inclusive historical examples, statistical-methods review for Simpson’s Paradox, provider currency, hosting/agent containment and recovery, meaningful human authority, mentor/reviewer boundaries, and consultant qualification need their respective reviews. Supplied examples and synthetic data are not observed pilot evidence. Track inclusion, Alpha/Beta labels, test results, and artifact presence do not promote readiness. |
| Prototype breadcrumb from the Study Time handoff | Rendering-layer repair. The canonical prototype HTML contains no breadcrumb; the incorrect “Lab Notebook” label is injected by the Astro rendering/sync layer. The accompanying hardening work owns that fix and its rendered verification. The Activity continues to link the prototype and Notebook as separate destinations. |
Verification and boundary
The focused Astro test scripts/test-hardening-alignment.mjs first reproduced six failures against the original source: four reciprocal module links, the missing privacy Practice navigation, and the app Notebook’s builder-oriented completion. All seven checks pass after the source repairs. The tests parse canonical YAML/Markdown and exercise the existing Notebook validator; they also check retained primary homes, dependency records, and release boundaries. The affected Study Time, Family, Knowledge Bases, and Systems Track manifest tests plus Notebook-standard tests pass with it: 26/26. git diff --check passes.
The existing Notebook sync dry run predicted exactly one changed file, the app Lab’s Notebook. The scoped result was regenerated with sync-lab-notebook-contracts.mjs --write; a subsequent check reports all Notebook contracts synchronized. No sync implementation or shared Notebook contract changed. Full Astro verification and rendered review belong to the accompanying hardening work and must pass before handoff. This record is not a learner pilot, curriculum approval, commit, publication, or deployment claim.
