Setup
Learners work alone, in pairs, or in small groups. Each group receives one or more product cards and a decision worksheet.
Task
For each product, decide whether the consumer should:
- purchase
- renew
- downgrade
- replace
- delay
- leave
- test before deciding
Decision Questions
- What is the consumer actually buying?
- What outcome are they trying to achieve?
- What stage of maturity does the product appear to be in?
- Which features exist today?
- Which features are promises or previews?
- What could change after purchase?
- What compatibility requirements must be verified?
- Has the product survived a meaningful upgrade cycle?
- What is the consequence of failure?
- Is the proposed commitment right-sized?
- Should the learner test before committing?
- What agreement terms require review?
- What road-map or forum activity should be checked?
- How difficult would it be to leave?
- Is this an experiment, operational tool, or critical process?
- What decision should be made now?
Debrief
Ask each group to name:
- one thing the product has proven
- one thing it has not proven
- one commitment that should be smaller
- one exit or backup step that should exist before deeper adoption
