Updates

2026-07-17

Moved module activities into the shared Lab Library, added lifecycle and contribution workflow metadata, seeded five draft/example lab packages, and prepared the rendered lab catalog for review.

What Changed

  • Moved existing module-owned activities into the shared Lab Library so hands-on work has one canonical source location.
  • Added lifecycle metadata to lab package READMEs so the rendered site can show whether each lab is a placeholder, draft, testing candidate, or final package.
  • Added the Lab Contribution Workflow to describe how proposals move from GitHub Issues into reviewed Markdown packages.
  • Expanded the GitHub lab-activity issue template to capture learner outcomes, task scope, materials, safety/privacy boundaries, take-home artifacts, review needs, and acceptance criteria.
  • Updated module pages, source maps, artifact references, and earlier daily notes so links point to the new top-level labs/ packages instead of the old module-owned activity paths.
  • Seeded five v1 package examples in the Lab Library, including the material now merged into Forty-Five Seconds to Make It Clear, Brain Dump to Memo, How Context Constrains the Continuation, Contradictions in Context, and Module to Interactive Single-Page Application.
  • Added contributor-facing templates and a local drafting skill package so accepted lab assignments can start from a consistent source structure.
  • Updated the Astro Learning Lab pipeline to validate lab library metadata, surface lifecycle status and review notes, and render the top-level Labs catalog.

Reviewer Starting Points

Next

  • Review migrated lab packages for missing v1 learner material, accessibility notes, and pilot-readiness gaps.
  • Decide which draft lab packages should move into review first.
  • Keep the daily update links less prominent in the later website redesign, while preserving them as a reviewer navigation aid.
