In plain language
The transformation is what the process does to its input. It may turn a request into a decision, raw information into a verified record, or an unassigned task into owned work.
Why it matters
Some workflows move information without changing it. Others enrich, verify, approve, summarize, assign, classify, or convert it.
Understanding the transformation helps reveal the actual value of the process.
Example
A raw customer request becomes a verified work order with customer details, service category, technician assignment, and appointment time.
Common misconception
A transformation does not have to be automated or dramatic. Checking, approving, classifying, assigning, or combining information can change its usefulness or status.
