Student guide: What Does the Tool Need?

Labs reference: Student guide: What Does the Tool Need?.

Work only from the fictional case packet. Your job is to build a useful first-draft brief, not to make a whole customer record safe for a chatbot.

  1. State the actual drafting task in one sentence.
  2. Sort each packet item: required now, useful but generalize, verify first, keep out, or handle elsewhere.
  3. Record a reason for every detail you exclude or generalize.
  4. Write a short minimum-necessary brief: goal, audience, tone, verified facts, and open questions.
  5. Draft a safer prompt that tells the tool not to invent facts or policy.
  6. Identify what a human must still verify before any real message is sent.

Completion check: save the sorting record, brief, safer prompt, and human-review note in the Lab Notebook.
