Facilitator guide: Reading Lines Together

Labs reference: Facilitator guide: Reading Lines Together.

Preparation and participation

Begin with the supplied RS-authored scenes. Offer reading, cueing, annotating, listening, and observing roles. Adjust vocabulary support, preparation time, passage length, speaking duration, and partner format. Provide large-print or high-contrast copies when needed.

Facilitation sequence

Choose source and roles; annotate; make a first reading; invite learner-first reflection; disclose evidence source; offer specific observations; choose one change; read again; compare.

Safety, rights, and accessibility

No recording is required. Do not collect scripts or learner notes. Other lawfully accessed text may be used privately but must not be copied into the gallery without permission. Prohibit recognizable-person voice imitation. Do not grade accent, dialect, disability, personality, or emotion.

Debrief and evidence of learning

Evidence is a visible annotation tied to meaning, one learner-chosen change, and a comparison. Transcript-only tools cannot assess pauses, pace, volume, pronunciation, or expression.

Timing and materials

Allow 25–40 minutes. Use RS-authored scenes, annotation key, pencils or digital annotation, and optional notebooks.
