Facilitator guide: Module to Interactive Single-Page Application

For a 60-minute session: 10 minutes to introduce the context mental model, 15 for cards and vocabulary matching, 10 for the quiz, 15 for the simulator and discussion, and 10 to capture reflections. For non-coders, using and critiquing the prototype is a complete path; coding is optional.

Ask teams to distinguish “feature I want” from “learning practice it creates.” Common failure: an attractive interface that only restates the lesson. Productive failure: a learner can repeat “more context is better” but cannot identify irrelevant or overly restrictive context. Use the simulator to repair that misconception before adding enhancements.

Use a shared screen or printed cards for learners without devices. Confirm keyboard navigation and text alternatives. Scores should not be used to rank learners or collected for surveillance. Do not turn local browser state into accounts or analytics without a separate privacy decision.

Provisional timing for facilitator planning

These inherited estimates are starting points for facilitation, not completion targets for learners. Refine them after observing setup, access needs, discussion, and actual participation.

  • Lab: 60–120 minutes (short: use prototype for 25; extended: build or adapt it)
