Facilitator guide: How Context Constrains the Continuation

Labs reference: Facilitator guide: How Context Constrains the Continuation.

Plan 35 minutes: 5-minute model, 12-minute runs, 10-minute annotation, 8-minute discussion. Demonstrate that “context” means supplied material, not a human-like understanding. Keep each run low-stakes and ask groups to label tool and date.

Common difficulty: learners change both the request and context, making the comparison ambiguous. Invite a redo with one changed condition. Productive failure includes a model ignoring a constraint or producing a very polished but unusably narrow answer. Ask, “What did this condition make less possible?” Provide printed sample responses for people without accounts, and a text-only comparison option.

Provisional timing for facilitator planning

These inherited estimates are starting points for facilitation, not completion targets for learners. Refine them after observing setup, access needs, discussion, and actual participation.
