Facilitator guide: Brain Dump to Memo
Labs reference: Facilitator guide: Brain Dump to Memo.
Allow 40 minutes: 5-minute safety framing, 10-minute source marking, 10-minute organization, 10-minute correction, 5-minute debrief. Provide an invented sample so no one feels pressure to expose workplace notes. Do not collect raw notes by default.
Watch for “professional” wording that increases certainty or removes disagreement. Productive failure looks like a tidy memo that quietly makes a suspicious claim sound proven. Ask: “What evidence would this sentence require?” “Whose perspective disappeared?” Provide a paper workflow, readable heading hierarchy, and a quiet reflection alternative.
Provisional timing for facilitator planning
These inherited estimates are starting points for facilitation, not completion targets for learners. Refine them after observing setup, access needs, discussion, and actual participation.
