Facilitator guide: A Safe First Try

Labs reference: Facilitator guide: A Safe First Try.

Prepare a printed source, prompt, and sample output so no learner must use an account or live tool. Say plainly that participation can be observation, paired discussion, speaking, or private writing.

Run of show

  1. Read the Maple Park source and ask what a checklist must not make up.
  2. Show the bounded request and the Maple Park checklist Gallery model.
  3. Invite the three human checks. Treat “I do not know” as a valid result.
  4. Let learners write personal ground rules privately; do not collect them.
  5. Close by naming one next low-risk experiment and one boundary that remains.

Facilitation boundary

Do not ask learners to disclose private uses, accounts, employment issues, or personal data. If someone brings a consequential use case, acknowledge it and redirect to a fictional or generalized version. This activity does not provide medical, legal, financial, employment, crisis, or safety guidance.

Completion check

Look for an explicit distinction between useful organization and verified truth, one concrete question left open, and a human-owned next decision.

Provisional timing for facilitator planning

These inherited estimates are starting points for facilitation, not completion targets for learners. Refine them after observing setup, access needs, discussion, and actual participation.
