Concept dictionary
AI Candidate
An AI candidate is a specific task or step that someone has flagged as a possible fit for AI and queued for examination — the process it sits in, the data it uses, the risks it carries, and who would review the result.
It records a question. It is not a recommendation yet.

Remember it this wayA candidate is a question to investigate, not an answer already chosen.
In plain language
An AI candidate is an idea worth investigating, not a decision to use AI. The team still needs to understand the work, the information involved, the risks, and who will review the result.
Why it matters
Not every friction point is an AI opportunity.
Some friction is better handled through clearer process design, training, data cleanup, system configuration, or simpler automation.
Example
Summarizing long intake notes may be an AI candidate if the notes are reliable, privacy risks are understood, and a human reviews the summary before action is taken.
Common misconception
Calling something an AI candidate does not mean AI is the best solution. It means the idea has enough potential to examine without skipping discovery, risk review, or simpler alternatives.
